Prunotto is nestled in the heart of Barolo in the small, charming village of Bussia Soprana. The story of Alba’s historic winery and the prized Vigna Colonnello vineyard unfolds as you discover an extraordinarily breath-taking territory. A journey through the shades and nuances of this unique terroir and a selection of fine wines will reveal an estate with over a century of winemaking history in The Langhe.
The experience at Prunotto begins in the winery in Bussia with a presentation of Alba’s historic winery, its century-long history and production. The visit continues with a tour of Vigna Colonnello and Bussia’s beautiful amphitheater shaped vineyard where in 1961 the first vintage of this prestigious Barolo was crafted. The visit culminates in the vinification cellar where Nebbiolo grapes harvested exclusively from these two vineyards are fermented and aged in traditional large oak barrels.
The tour takes about 1 hour.
Maximum number of visitors per visit: 10.
Choose a wine tasting event of either 3 or 6 wines including Barolo Bussia and, depending on the season and availability, two of the most prestigious crus from The Langhe, from Monferrato or from Roero: Bric Turot Barbaresco, Costamiole Nizza Riserva and Nebbiolo Occhetti.
The estate is open from Friday through Monday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Reservations are required for all tours.
