Donna Cora Satèn
Vinification
The whole bunches of Chardonnay, picked entirely by hand, were immediately given a soft pressing. The must obtained by this operation went directly into temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for the initial fermentation. In the spring of the following year, the wine underwent a second d fermentation, this time in bottle, remaining in contact with its fine lees for an extended period.
Tasting Notes
Donna Cora offers an intense yellow color. The foam is creamy, characterized by a delicate and persistent perlage which is typical of Franciacorta Satèn. The nose is elegant, with pleasant sensations of the fruity and floral fragrance of white fruit. The palate is balanced, complex, elegant and powerful at the same time.
Historical Data
The Montenisa estate is located around the hamlet of Calino, near Lake Iseo in the heart of the Franciacorta appellation. The vineyards surrounding the proprietary villa of the Maggi family have been the heart of the production of Marchese Antinori Franciacorta since 1999.
The Wine
Created by the interaction between the experience of the Antinori family and the demonstrated high viticultural quality of a territory, Franciacorta, the ”Vintage Dated” - Marchese Antinori Conte Aimo, Contessa Maggi, and Donna Cora – are produced from selected Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, and Pinot Bianco grapes and are made only in exceptional vintage.

Some in fact maintain that “Franciacorta” has its origin in the phrase “Petite France”, an affectionate name given to it by Charlemagne.
